Attention! The military trend is in action, so capture a pair of black lace-up boots, soldier!

Ever since I created my Boohoo outfit, I decided that I need a pair of military boots. Need!

As usual I darted into shops with a vision of the style of boot I wanted. My mission became to capture a pair with the following description:

• lace-up front
• black
• mid-high heel
• waterproof material
• comfy (obviously)

It’s rare that I find exactly what I want so soon, and when I do it’s usually out of my price range, however, I wandered into Next armed with my vouchers . When I reached the shoe section, I spotted my target straight away, sitting on the illuminated shelf, waiting for me. Black, lace up front, four-inch heel, waterproof; it’s definitely them.

I seized them straight away, slid my feet in and took a little stroll around the shoe isle.  No pinching, no slipping, no immediate rubbing. They’re not treating my wide feet like stress balls. Comfy!

Mission accomplished with no annoyance at lack of style or money, or tantrums about my fat feet.

I love the buckle detail, and the zip that runs up the side so I don’t have to undo the laces each time I wear them. The grip on the bottom is also a bonus for when the autumn showers start to pour in. They’re a bit squeaky at the moment, but hopefully that will go once they’ve been walked in.
